How to Choose Your Breast Augmentation in Miami

3 Min Read

Finding the best breast surgeon in Miami might be difficult, but there are ways to shorten your list of potential plastic surgeons in Miami and find the one that is the best fit for you.

Start by looking for surgeons that have several essential qualifications, such as at least six years of surgical training, graduation from an accredited medical school, continuing education with a specialty in the procedure of your choice, and surgical privileges in multiple accredited facilities.

How Much Should I Consider My Breast Augmentation Cost?

People tend to look for the cheapest route when buying a product, and in most cases, the consumer can benefit from deals or sales. Unfortunately, this is not always the case when choosing a surgeon to perform your breast augmentation.

In fact, choosing the cheapest breast augmentation in Miami can backfire and negatively affect your health.

Cost is an important factor when choosing a plastic surgeon, yet, it should not be the determining factor when your health and safety are at stake.

It is crucial to choose the most qualified surgeon, not the cheapest. When choosing a plastic surgeon, remember you are not only paying for the procedure but their experience and qualifications.

How Experienced Is My Breast Surgeon?

You want your surgeon to not only have several years of experience performing plastic surgery but performing breast augmentation. Plastic surgeons are usually expected to complete six years of surgical training following medical school; it is recommended for your surgeon to undergo a minimum of three years of plastic surgery residency training.

Never be afraid to ask your surgeon how many years they have been performing breast augmentation or any other cosmetic procedure that you may be interested in. Not all surgeries operate the same, so it is important to ask the surgeon how many years of experience they have in your specific procedure.

Some questions to ask your surgeon can include:

  • How did you train for this procedure?
  • How many times have you performed this procedure?
  • How many years have you been performing this procedure?
  • Can I see your before and after photos?
  • What would you do if I experienced a complication with my surgery or implants?

Do They Have Hospital Privileges?

Where the surgeon conducts his/her surgeries is essential to consider when choosing a surgeon. During the consultation, ask them where they plan on performing your surgery.

The surgeon should be conducting their surgeries at an accredited, state-licensed, or medicare-certified surgical facility. Often, it is good to see if a surgeon has privileges at a specific hospital or multiple hospitals. When a surgeon has privileges at a hospital, it means the medical facility or hospital has done a background check on the surgeon and verified their qualifications.
